REV. JIM PRUNER
Meet our Pastor, Reverend Jim Pruner
Do you ever wonder about the way things are? As a father of three children I am concerned about what I see going on in the world. We have all seen the startling newspaper articles about our nation's young people. Not once, but several times, students have opened fire on their classmates in school. There have been surveys done showing that most young people think that there is nothing wrong with cheating in school. "Everyone does it," is the justification. Drug and alcohol usage among teens are up and 7% of our 12 year olds and younger are sexually active.
Our headlines seem more like horror stories than the details of our daily lives. We have to admit that, as adults, there are many things that we need to do to help our children cope in the midst of so much chaos. We can monitor what they watch on TV. We can watch who they hang out with. We can talk to them. All of these things are important and necessary, but giving our children a solid foundation of faith can be the most important thing we can do. Surveys have shown again and again that a faith in God that is valued and practiced is one of the best ways to ensure that young people grow with the right kinds of values and attitudes that they need to be happy, healthy and well adjusted. Faith makes a difference. The West Trenton Presbyterian Church is an engaged community of faith the seeks to know and love God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to the glory of God and for our own personal blessing.
